TAFE Queensland South West is a learning organisation delivering nationally recognised vocational and educational training to Queensland and beyond.

TAFE Queensland South West plays a vital role in the economy and communities of over one-third of regional Queensland, with locations in Bundamba, Inala and Springfield in the east, Toowoomba and other key Darling Downs centres, Stanthorpe, Kingaroy and Cherbourg, to Charleville in the west.

Teaching

TAFE Queensland teachers deliver educational excellence by encouraging and mentoring students to help them succeed in their chosen industry.

Modes of delivery can include training in the classroom or workplace, through distance or online learning, or a combination of delivery modes using a variety of training tools and techniques.

Teachers also contribute to developing training packages in consultation with industry to ensure programs continue to meet contemporary workforce requirements.

Teaching appointments may be made on a full-time or part-time, permanent, temporary or casual basis.

To be eligible to become a TAFE Queensland teacher you must:

  • be able to demonstrate vocational competency at least to the level of the training package being delivered
  • possess current industry skills directly relevant to the teaching position, and
  • hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) or be willing to obtain the qualification.
