This certificate will prepare employees or recognise and develop existing workers performing mechanical work in the agricultural vehicle and equipment service and repair sector. You'll learn about safety, environment and communications, electrical/electronic systems, engine service and repair, transmission, clutches and braking systems, and diesel fuel systems. Entry requirements

Students must be employed as an apprentice or trainee and have a signed Registered Training Contract, stating TAFE Queensland South West is the Supervising Registered Training Organisation (SRTO).

It is also recommended that you have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online systems, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at a number of TAFE Queensland locations.

Timetable

Delivery of this program is available as a combination of workplace training and may include some delivery at TAFE. Where workplace training is selected, a Teacher will be assigned to attend your workplace to deliver training and assess your skills and knowledge. Delivery at TAFE consists of face-to-face classes after being released from the workplace by your employer. The duration of your attendance will vary depending on the stage and the units of competency specified in your individual training plan.

TAFE attendance times: Mondays from 10am to 4.30pm, Tuesdays toThursdays from 8am to 4.30pm, and Fridays from 8am to 2.30pm (please refer to training notices for minor variations to start and end times).
