You are required to wear non slip closed in shoes, plain coloured button up or polo shirt, and navy or black trousers when at TAFE for clinical workshops or attending the workplace.

As a traineeship this program is delivered full time up to 18 months. As a trainee you will undertake training in your workplace and if required on-site at TAFE . For workplace training, your teacher will support your workplace learning with a variety of methods, including workplace visits, email and telephone assistance. Delivery at TAFE could consist of face-to-face classes, skills workshops or short one-on-one or small group meetings, after being released from the workplace by employers. It is possible to complete your traineeship without attending TAFE and throughout your training you will be supported by teachers from a TAFE Queensland South West location closest to your residential address. Teachers are based in Kingaroy (also services Chinchilla, Dalby, Tara and Gayndah), Roma, Springfield, and Warwick.

Trainees work in an accredited residential care facility or in a hospital often one day per week or by negotiation between student and employer.
