Unique Student Identifier (USI) - Student Information

Entry requirements

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, to enrol with TAFE Queensland South West you will need to be currently employed within the field of logistics. It is recommended that students entering this course have management experience in the transport and distribution industry.
Student with experience in the industry will be provided with the opportunity to RPL through competencies. The RPL process may confirm competence for whole competencies or it may identify elements of Gap Training to be met prior to assessment.


Delivered in workplaces throughout Queensland

Resources required

Personal Protective Equipment relevant to the workplace such as:

  • safety footwear complaint with the Australian Standard AS2210
  • long sleeve high-visibility shirts
  • long trousers
  • personal stationery (pens and paper)

It is also recommended that you have a valid email address, access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online systems, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at a number of TAFE Queensland locations.


The Diploma in Logistics is delivered in the workplace with 12 formal delivery visits from the trainer/assessor, consisting duration of 4 hours per visit. Minimum student numbers do apply in some locations - please contact us for further information.
You will undertake training and assessment in the workplace with visits from the trainer/assessor.

Students are required to manage self-paced study. Students will need to negotiate study time (within normal work hours) with the employer.

Important Information

Students with experience in the industry will be provided with the opportunity to RPL through competencies. The RPL process may confirm competence for the whole competency or it may identify elements of Gap Training to be met prior to assessment. Students gaining the qualification through RPL will complete the assessment process over 10 weeks.


A successful assessment outcome for a total of 15 units of competency comprising: 2 core unit listed below plus 13 electives. There is a wide range of Mandatory elective and elective units, please collaborate you’re your teacher to select the elective units that will achieve your desire qualification. Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with.
