How to enrol

Unique Student Identifier (USI) - Student Information

From 1 January 2015 if you are undertaking a nationally recognised program at TAFE Queensland you will need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Learn all about the USI and how to get your USI for your study.

Entry requirements

Students must be employed as an apprentice or trainee and have a signed Registered Training Contract, stating TAFE Queensland South West is the Supervising Registered Training Organisation (SRTO).

Delivered in workplaces throughout Queensland

Resources required

You will require access to a workplace to practice and apply skills.

You will also require a valid email address, access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online systems, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at a number of TAFE Queensland South West locations.


The nominal term for Full-Time Trainees is 24 months.

It is important that you manage your study time well in order to stay within the time limits given for each unit of study. It is recommended that a minimum of 7 hours per week is invested into study.
