Fees

The good news is that many of our courses are subsidised by the government, and we have a great range of payment options, concessions, and credit transfer options - so why wouldn't you make the most of it?

What will my course cost?

The cost of your course depends on a number of factors, such as:

  • the course you have chosen
  • the length of your course
  • whether you are studying full-time, part-time, or online
  • if you can gain course credits through Recognition of Prior Learning or credit transfer
  • your eligibility for concessions, fee exemptions or subsidies.

Not only does TAFE Queensland South West offer a high quality and competitively priced range of courses, we offer flexible payment options to suit your needs. We will talk you through the different types of courses and the payment options available, so you can choose what will work best for you. Options include:

Study now and pay later with VET FEE-HELP

The Australian Government has review the VET FEE-HELP scheme.

A new program call VET Students Loans will commence from 1 January 2017. The changes will be for new students starting study in 2017.

If you have already been receiving VET FEE-HELP you will still receive it next year while you complete your course.

We will be in touch with all students who are already receiving VET FEE-HELP or have enrolled to study a diploma of above program in 2017 to explain the changes.

Information for existing VET FEE-HELP students

VET FEE-HELP is a loan scheme to help pay your tuition fees for higher-level vocational education and training courses such as diplomas, advanced diplomas and graduate vocational qualifications.

TAFE Queensland receives your tuition fees from the government and you repay your loan through the Australian tax system. When your income reaches the repayment threshold, you start making repayments until you have repaid the whole loan amount.

VET FEE-HELP is only for tuition fees, and doesn't cover additional study costs such as your text books, materials and accommodation.

For more information please visit the VET FEE-HELP page.

When do I have to pay?

If you are paying upfront, course fees are paid at the time of enrolment.

If you have been approved for a payment plan you'll pay your fees in installments. The frequency and amount will depend on your individual payment plan.

Can I get a discount on my course fee?

Everyone loves a good discount and there are a range of subsidies provided to eligible TAFE Queensland students. Please refer to our section on Financial Support and Student Loans for further information.
