What will you do after year 12? Fee-Free Training for year 12 graduates

Fee-Free Training

If you're a Queensland resident, have just finished year 12 and are keen to start your studies within the next calendar year, you might be eligible to study fee free.

The Queensland government has identified a number of industries with a high demand for trained workers.  To help fill these gaps, they will pay the full cost of a number of certificate III qualifications in high priority study areas under the Certificate 3 Guarantee and User Choice programs.  We want school leavers to gain the important skills and training they need before starting their careers or university studies.

Eligibility

You can access fee-free training if you:

  • have completed year 12 in Queensland and hold a Senior Statement issued by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority or equivalent certification
  • enrol and start an apprenticeship, traineeship or training, with an approved training provider in a high priority qualification by the end of the calendar year following completion of Year 12
  • permanently reside in Queensland be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

How much will I have to pay?

You won't have to pay any tuition fees but you may have to cover other costs associated with your training (e.g. textbooks).

We have a number of courses available through Fee-free training*.  Some courses are available via direct entry enrolment (that means you can enrol directly through us) and others are only available via an apprenticeship or traineeship. Find out more about apprenticeships or traineeships
